Christian Education | Goals
Present a Personal Christ
Martin Luther emphasized the importance of God’s saving action for each person by stressing the words “for you” as one received the sacrament of Holy Communion. The Sunday School program provides opportunities for the development of a relationship to Christ and his people.
Teach a Grace Orientation
Christians are saved by the grace of God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live as God’s people. The Sunday School program reflects God’s grace and emphasizes God’s action in the life of the Christian. Christianity is not merely rules to memorize and good works to be achieved, but living as the people of God.
Stimulate Interest in Scripture
The Bible is the story of God’s relationship with God’s people. The Bible is central to our faith and life together. The curriculum will be scripture based, encouraging the reading and discussion of the Bible.
Teach Moral Responsibility
The morals and values of the Christian faith guide our life as Christian people. The Sunday School reflects and teaches these values.
Welcome Diversity
We welcome people of all ages, races, ethnicities, and physical capabilities.
Involve Youth in Mission Outreach
Living the faith, reaching out to others, and serving are expressions of devotion. The Sunday School provides opportunities for mission outreach for all ages.
Encourage High Self-Regard
Students are accepted as children of God and encouraged to discover their gifts and graces to serve God and others.
Partner with the Home
The Christian home and the Congregation partner together to strengthen and nurture the faith of all. The Sunday School exists to strengthen the faith of individuals and the Christian home.
